Step 4.Post your thesis on the wall, then write to it. Step 5.Organize around key sentences. Step 6.Use key sentences as an after-the-fact outline. Step 7.Share early drafts with non-experts. Step 8.Share later drafts with little-e experts and Capital-E Experts. Step 9.Learn how to listen. Step 10.Respond to each criticism. Step 11.Read your prose out loud. Step 12.Kick it out the door and make 'em say "No."
